MBS at Lowlands: Viva La Vaginome and the Power of Rapid Diagnostics

This year, MBS will be present at the Lowlands festival as part of the unique ‘Viva La Vaginome’ project. This initiative, developed by Avans University of Applied Sciences, the ‘Women for Women’ network, Yoni, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and MBS, focuses on raising awareness about vaginal health by employing the latest scientific methods.

During the festival, female visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a scientific study that provides insights into their vaginal microbiome. MBS plays a key role in this project with its innovative NextGenPCR machine, which enables highly accurate analyses to be performed within minutes.

NextGenPCR: Faster than Ever

The NextGenPCR machine from MBS stands out for its unparalleled speed, executing traditional PCR processes much faster. This is a breakthrough, particularly in the field lab at Lowlands, where visitors can quickly and accurately gain insight into their vaginal health after a simple swab. The study focuses, among other things, on the presence of beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus crispatus, which are crucial for maintaining a healthy vaginal flora.

Science and Health at a Festival

The ‘Viva La Vaginome’ project aims to break taboos and open up discussions about vaginal health. MBS contributes to this by providing scientists with the tools to conduct rapid and reliable microbiological research, even in the challenging environment of a festival.

Although MBS is not actively marketing to festival-goers, its contribution to this project is a fine example of how technology can make healthcare more accessible, even outside the traditional hospital and laboratory settings.

Innovation in Practice

For MBS, participating in Lowlands is an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of the NextGenPCR in a unique and dynamic environment. It demonstrates how fast and reliable diagnostics can contribute to important scientific and health-related projects, with a focus on women’s health.

MBS remains committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic solutions to hospitals, laboratories, and now also to scientific projects like Viva La Vaginome.
